The Riverina Lions remain unbeaten in the Women’s Grade, leaving them as the only remaining team with a perfect record in 2015 across the lower grades.
Belconnen won their fourth game in as many outings in Second Grade to hold their spot on top of the table. Dominant performances from Tuggeranong and Ainslie see them snapping at the heels of the Magpies.
Eastlake and Ainslie played out a thriller in the Rising Stars, before a flurry in the final term allowed the Demons to take the points. Premiership hopefuls Marist and Queanbeyan also picked up victories.
ADFA/RMC knocked over the previously unbeaten ANU Griffins in Third Grade allowing Woden to move to the top of the table after a win over Molonglo, whilst Batemans Bay collected a huge win to break their duck for 2015.
Harman and ANU continued their dominant starts to the 2015 season in Fourth Grade, with both sides now entrenched in a battle for top spot on the ladder. Molonglo got off the mark with a massive victory over arch-rivals Woden.
Riverina collected their fifth win in as many outings, confirming their spot on top of the table in the Women’s Grade. Tuggeranong firmed as one of the competition favourites with another win, whilst Eastlake, ANU, and Ainslie also collected the points.
SECOND GRADE (ROUND 5)
Belconnen 17.16.118 defeated Queanbeyan 4.6.30
The Magpies superior percentage sees them hold top spot on the ladder after recording their fourth straight victory in their first away game of the season.
Tuggeranong 21.24.150 defeated Gungahlin 6.2.38
Gungahlin remain winless after running in to a dominant Tuggeranong outfit. It was the Hawks’ third win by over 100 points in 2015.
Ainslie 25.11.161 defeated Eastlake 3.5.23
The Tricolours finished the game with an exclamation point after booting ten goals in the final term to cap off a dominant performance.
RISING STARS (ROUND 5)
Queanbeyan 6.6.42 defeated Belconnen 2.9.21
Inaccuracy cruelled the away side as the Tigers continued their winning ways. Their third win of the season sees them stay inside the top four, moving two games clear of fifth-placed Belconnen on the table.
Marist 20.18.138 defeated Tuggeranong 2.5.17
Marist collected their fourth consecutive victory, knocking over the winless Hawks at home. Liam Tutty collected Best on Ground honours for the hosts.
Eastlake 9.9.63 defeated Ainslie 6.12.48
In the tightest game of the round, the lead changed hands at every break. Ainslie held the advantage going in to the final term, before the top-of-the-table Demons outclassed their opposition to get the win.
THIRD GRADE (ROUND 8)
ADFA/RMC 11.16.82 defeated ANU 9.6.60
ADFA/RMC produced the upset of the round, knocking over the previously unbeaten Griffins on their home turf. Down by seven going in to the fourth quarter, the Rams kicked five goals to one to make a statement to the rest of the competition.
Batemans Bay 18.15.123 defeated UC 4.0.24
The Seahawks dominated proceedings from the first bounce, going three quarters without conceding a point in their first victory of the season.
Woden 10.10.70 defeated Molonglo 7.10.52
The Blues held off a late fightback from the opposition to win their sixth outing in seven games. The win sees Woden move to first on the ladder.
FOURTH GRADE (ROUND 8)
ANU 12.12.84 defeated ADFA/RMC 7.7.49
The Griffins picked up their sixth win in season 2015 to maintain their place in the top two on the competition table.
Harman 22.15.147 defeated UC 3.8.26
Harman remain at the top of the table having dropped only one of their seven games in 2015 after seven first quarter goals laid the platform for a massive 121-point win.
Molonglo 13.7.85 defeated Woden 3.7.25
The Juggernauts collected their first victory of the year in Fourth Grade over the third placed Blues, with club legend Dean Hill proving unbeatable in the backline.
REGIONAL GRADE (ROUND 8)
Yass 24.20.164 defeated Tuggeranong 2.2.14
Seventeen second half goals to none from the away side ensured that they would move in to third in a congested bottom half of the competition ladder.
Goulburn 17.16.118 defeated Cooma 5.8.38
A strong performance from the Swans saw them hold their lead at the top of the table, downing the home side by 80 points as Andrew Robertson was named Best on Ground.
Cootamundra defeated Ainslie.
WOMENS GRADE (ROUND 5)
Eastlake 10.3.63 defeated Queanbeyan 2.4.16
Karina Demant slotted six goals in a Best on Ground performance as Eastlake collected their third win of the 2015 season.
ANU 6.7.43 defeated ADFA/RMC 1.1.7
After just one point was scored in the opening quarter, ANU kicked away in the second term to set up a six-goal victory.
Ainslie 10.7.67 defeated Molonglo 4.2.26
Bianca Richmond proved hard to stop for the home side, kicking six goals to propel the Tricolours to their second win of the year.
Riverina 9.10.64 defeated Belconnen 3.3.21
Riverina continued their unbeaten start to the 2015 season, kicking six goals to none in the second half to knock over the third placed Magpies.
Tuggeranong 4.10.34 defeated Gungahlin 2.3.15
The Hawks moved in to second spot on the ladder after a 30-point difference going in to the final quarter proved too much to overcome for the home side.
