A brilliant 89-run stand between Ellyse Perry (67* from 46) and Ashleigh Gardner (41 from 29) helped the Sixers complete a perfect weekend with an eight wicket victory over the Melbourne Renegades.

The win marks the fifth in a row for the magenta in WBBL|01, as the Sixers posted 2/129 in reply to the Renegades’ 6/128 at the Junction Oval.
Perry blasted one six and nine fours as she climbed to third spot on the competition’s leading run-scorers list.
The in-form all-rounder got the Sixers off to a flier before eighteen year-old Gardner stole the show, finding the fence with ease as she erased any hope of a Renegades victory.
A dominant display of batting from the Sixers pair had the visitors sitting pretty at 1/53 at the end of the power play, a staggering start considering the Renegades were 1/24 at the same point.
A brilliant spell of bowling from Marizanne Kapp (2/13 from four overs) saw her enhance her reputation as one of the best bowlers in the WBBL.
Kapp boasts one of the best economy rate’s in the competition, going at just 4.23 runs per over in her 39 overs bowled.
The South African international claimed the early wicket of Rachel Priest before picking up Sarah Elliott with her very next ball to leave the Renegades languishing at 2/22.
A fight back from Dane van Niekerk (38) and Kris Britt (32) steadied the ship for the hosts, before Sarah Aley (2/20 from four overs) struck to swing the momentum back in favour of the Sixers.
The Sixers now turn their attention to a clash with the Hobart Hurricanes this Friday at Waverley Oval.
