The Raiders return to GIO Stadium this weekend with the NRL side looking to continue their unbeaten start to the 2016 season.
We’ve put together a list of five things we can’t wait to see in Round Four against the in-form Gold Coast Titans.
THE HOME GROUND: See the full list on the Raiders website.
The boys are back in town
The Raiders return home this weekend looking to make it three wins on the trot for 2016 at GIO Stadium for the first time since 2013 – where we had an eight-game winning streak at home.
Two massive crowds have seen the hosts walk away with the competition points so far this season, and Ricky Stuart and his men will be hoping for another one.
Whitehead the wonderful
The stand-in five eighth has proved to be a revelation in the halves, laying on two try assists against the Knights as he racked up 56 Fantasy points.
The workhorse made a staggering forty tackles at Hunter Stadium – suggesting he’s not your average five-eighth – and still managed to play a starring role in attack. Raiders fans will be hoping for more of the same in Round 4.
Hodgo hitting 40/20s
English hooker Josh Hodgson has nailed two 40/20s in as many weeks, suggesting the number nine could be the go-to man if the hosts are on the back foot.
Peeling off massive plays like that, there is absolutely no doubting this man’s status as a game-changer.
Another 10,000+ crowd
Jarrod Croker will be hoping to lead his Raiders out into a sea of green at GIO Stadium this weekend after two big crowds watched the side’s first two home games.
A crowd of 11,297 piled in to see Shaun Fensom’s last gasp try against Penrith, before 12,423 flocked to see Sam Williams slot a match-winning field goal against the Roosters.
The Green Machine will be looking to remain undefeated in season 2016 after two wins and a draw in the opening three rounds.
Should the hosts walk away with the competition points, it would mark the first time since 2005 that the Raiders have been unbeaten after four rounds.
Winding back to 2005, we entered Round 4 in second place, and left in first place. Where are we sitting now? You guessed it, in second!
